Race Day Information:    Race Date: August 3, 2019 | Same Day Registration: 6:00- 7:00 am | 

Pre-Race Announcements: 7:15 am | Starting Time: 10K @ 7:30 am & 5K @ 7:40 am | Start Location: The Elgin Community Club

Parking:  There is Limited parking at the Elgin Club. There is also parking alongside the road. If you park alongside the road, please make sure your car is completely off the road.  We will have volunteers to help direct parking.

Road Closures: As in past years, there will be some temporary road closures for the safety of race participants & volunteers on the morning of the race. The following road closures will be enforced beginning at approximately 7:15 am until approximately 9:15am.
—Elgin Road between the entrance to Rancho Rossa Vineyards (just east of Cattle Ranch Lane) to the Village of Elgin area by the bridge.  Access to the Village of Elgin from Elgin Road, Lower Elgin Road, and Elgin Canelo Road will be closed during this time.
—Camino del Corral will also be closed during that time.

General Race Policies

  • The event will take place rain or shine. No refunds. Bring your best pair of running shoes ...and your worst just in case of mud!!

  • Strollers are permitted, however, portions of the course are off-road and on uneven terrain.

  • Pets are not permitted on the course

    The race courses will include paved roads & vineyard trails.

Post Race Festivities

Red Beard Rally will have merchandise available! Come and check it out after the race- Hats, shirts and wine glasses. Also don't forget to stop by the Sparky’s Cantina Food Truck for some awesome grub. Bring your $$$.

Following the race there will be an awards ceremony, prize drawings, and a wine tasting featuring the local area wineries from 9:00-11:00.  Proceeds of the race benefit the Al Buhl Memorial Scholarship fund at St. Augustine Catholic High School, the running programs at Patagonia Union High School and Elgin School,  and the Santa Cruz County 4-H Mustang Club. Guests of runners are welcome to join in the fun!  Keep your bib on hand for additional discounts in the area at tasting rooms and restaurants.
